HVTDC to Conduct Seminar on Value Stream Mapping
Hudson Valley Technology Development Center will conduct a seminar dedicated to teaching the techniques of Value Stream Mapping (VSM). It will be held at their main office in Fishkill on three individual dates: February 18 th , April 21 st and June 16 th . Each session will run from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
VSM is a tool used to create a graphical picture of material and information flow within an enterprise. This tool allows companies to map the flow of products in the back door from suppliers, through manufacturing processes to the loading dock as a finished product. The map will identify “the flow” of your value stream and signal wastes within that flow.
The seminar is intended for executives within a manufacturing environment charged with improving operations in ways that demand new behavior and ways of thinking. During this workshop, they will analyze the current state map of a real-world firm featured in a detailed case study. They will find the non-value added activities, then draw a future state map that eliminates those activities.
