HVTDC Hires New Business Development EngineerApril 27, 2006 – “There are thousands of companies in the valley who would benefit greatly from the services that HVTDC offers, and I’m really delighted that I’ll be able to deliver those services directly to many of them.” Those are the enthusiastic words of David Tooker who has just been named by HVTDC as their newest Business Development Engineer. “Dave Tooker will help deliver and satisfy the needs of our clients in manufacturing, medical and other organizations throughout the region”, states Bob Winrow, HVTDC Field Services Director. “His extensive background, intelligence and confidence will be an asset to our consulting team’s efforts.” HVTDC is the Fishkill-based not-for-profit business resource center that works directly with companies throughout the Hudson Valley to help them adopt new business practices to grow, and to assist businesses to work more efficiently, effectively and profitably by streamlining and improving their daily operations. It is one of ten regional technology development centers funded cooperatively through the NYS Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research (NYSTAR) and the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). HVTDC’s Winrow states that, “Dave Tooker fits in ideally” with HVTDC’s objectives of working closely with companies to guide them in ways to strengthen and improve their operations. With over 20 years experience across a broad range of industries, Tooker’s career has focused on the optimization of the supply chain and solutions that leverage advanced business operational performance and improvements. Previous positions he has held included Vice President of Manufacturing for Solid State Cooling Systems; Director of Business Development for the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation; Materials Manager for SP Industries; and Manufacturing Manager for MIC Technologies. Throughout his impressive career he has conducted numerous project-based services for regional businesses. David Tooker has a proven track record in the development and implementation of business systems and productivity improvement efforts such as Lean, Synchronous Management and Six Sigma, Kaizen, Quality at the Source, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Industrial Engineering and Business Development. He has also successfully sought and received numerous grants and funding on behalf of area businesses for training, product development, capital expansions and improvement services.
